Unsafe products online

Worried about a product sold online?

Use the route that matches what happened: check published recalls, make a full report about an incident, or flag the marketplace listing for evidence capture and controlled human review.

What do you need to do?

You do not need to decide whether a product is legally unsafe before raising a genuine concern. Describe what you observed and keep conclusions separate from the evidence.

01 · CHECK

Has the product been recalled?

Search the product name, brand, model, barcode, batch code or official reference and compare every identifier.

Check product recalls

02 · REPORT

Did it fail or cause harm?

Make a full, trackable report about a suspected hazard, failure, injury, near miss or property damage.

Report a product incident

03 · FLAG

Are you viewing the listing now?

Use FOLO-UP Whistle to check for earlier signals or flag the listing while its seller and product evidence remain visible.

Possible warning signs

Why people report products sold online

A concern may involve overheating, smoke, electric shock, sharp or loose parts, choking hazards, unexpected breakage, chemical reactions, missing warnings, suspicious conformity claims or a product that appears to match a published recall.

These signs justify checking and preserving evidence, but they do not by themselves prove that the listing or every example of the product is unsafe.

Is the product faulty or dangerous?

Not every faulty or defective product is unsafe. If you are unsure whether the problem is an ordinary consumer issue or a possible safety risk, start with the faulty-product reporting guide.

What evidence should I save?

Keep the listing address, marketplace, seller name, product title, model or batch identifiers, order information, photographs and screenshots. Never continue using a product or recreate a failure merely to collect evidence.
