Unsafe product reporting
Report an unsafe or dangerous product
Tell us about the product, seller, incident, harm and evidence. Your full report receives a reference and remains a signal for assessment until the evidence is reviewed.
Before you report
Use the right route for immediate harm
FOLO-UP is not an emergency service and does not replace Citizens Advice, Trading Standards or OPSS. If there is an immediate danger to life or an active fire, leave the area, call 999 and follow the emergency services’ instructions.
What happens after submission
The full form creates a FOLO-UP reference. If more information is needed, a secure follow-up may request photographs, labels, order evidence, marketplace screenshots or other relevant material. A report starts an assessment; it is not automatically a finding that the product is unsafe.
Not sure whether the fault is dangerous?
A product can be faulty without creating a safety risk. Use our guide to distinguish an ordinary quality fault from a failure that may need a safety report.
