The plug failed to meet the requirements of BS1363-1, as the pins were measured to have a thickness above the maximum permitted 4.05 mm. The dimensions of the sleeved parts of the pins differed from the metal parts of the pins, resulting in a distinct step between the two that may result in damage to the socket.
