The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as the product’s unreliable earth connection makes it likely that, if the product is misused, the consumer could receive an electric shock. The earthing connection was inadequate as the screw fastening the earth terminal was not in direct contact with the metal casing of the product, only the screw. Instead, it was on the plastic housing. Improvements are required to documentation, markings and labelling. Due to the power ratings the product is not considered suitable for connection to the UK power system with a 13A plug.
