The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as the luminaire required to be earthed, however this was not mentioned in the instructions and the diagram only showed two wires to be connected. If a fault were to occur with the product during use, the metal parts accessible to the consumer could become live due to a fault and lack of functioning earthing. Once touched, these live metal parts would cause an electric shock. The product had not been accompanied by adequate instructions and safety information in a language easily understood by consumers and other end-users.
