The product presents a serious risk of fire as the battery exploded during testing which included flames of over 2m. The product also presents a risk of injuries as it can reach excessively high speeds of 40-60 kph, in excess of the maximum permissible speed. This can lead the scooter to become unsteady and make it easy for the rider to fall off, presenting a risk of serious injuries should this happen at speed. It was also possible for the scooter to be powered while the charging cable was connected and providing power, which could lead to damage to the battery charger / scooter. The product also required improvements to markings, labelling and documentation.
