Via ferrata sets with a shock absorber and two carabiners connected with elastic straps. The sets are marine blue in colour, and the carabiners have orange clasps. The sets are also available as part of a package, which includes a helmet and harness.

Via ferrata sets should absorb the impact of a fall while climbing whilst ensuring that the climber remains securely attached to the rope for the duration of the climbing activity. It has been identified that the plastic component of the locking mechanism on the carabiner may bend, especially when exposed to cooler temperatures. This could lead to the automatic locking function becoming impaired and potentially cause the climber to detach from the safety line and fall from a height.
