The products present a serious risk of injuries as the safety features designed to protect the user’s hands when collapsing the ladders may fail during use. The ladders tested could not support a sufficient load before failing and collapsing, which could cause the user to fall from a height. Additionally, the ladders over 3M did not include a stabiliser, such as a bar at the base, to widen it meaning it is unstable during use and could cause the user to fall.
