The product has been identified as presenting a risk of fire, burns and electric shock due to multiple safety defects. The product’s plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of the relevant standard, presenting an electric shock hazard when plugging in, or pulling it out of a mains electrical socket. The plug was incorrectly rated for the fuse link fitted and the rated power of the appliance, presenting a fire hazard. The mains plug was also not fitted with a fuse link conforming to the relevant standard, and was incorrectly rated for the plug and supply cord fitted.
