Description
The VARIODYN ONE is a voice alarm system for buildings. The voice alarm system is used to inform people via loudspeakers – in everyday situations (e.g. announcements) and in emergencies (e.g. evacuation instructions in the event of a fire). It is used in large, publicly accessible buildings (e.g. shopping centres, schools, hotels, so-called “projects”). It is only sold to specialist installers and distributors, not to private households.

Risk Level: Serious
The product presents a serious risk of injuries because, if an emergency were to occur, there is a risk the system may produce a sound that is too quiet. The INC has a preset alarm volume, however in some firmware versions, there is a defect that can cause an individual volume setting to apply to the entire system. If the alarm is not heard or heard too late by people in the building, they may be delayed in getting to safety and may be at risk of receiving injuries.
Corrective Action
The product has been withdrawn from the market. Affected customers have been informed of the safety risk and actions to take, including a firmware update.
