The product presents a serious risk of choking as when tested in accordance with the drop test, the tops of both side panels of the walker were damaged and pieces broke off the right-hand side panel. All the broken pieces fitted wholly inside the small parts cylinder. Additionally, the two ‘hammers’, comprising a wooden ‘dowel’ with a spherical ‘bead’ attached to one end, were tested in accordance with torque test, during which the ‘bead’ on one of the ‘hammers’ rotated 180°. When this ‘hammer’ was tested in accordance with the tension test, the ‘bead’ detached under a force of 11.5 ± 0.1 Newtons which is less than the minimum 90N specified. The detached ‘bead’ fitted wholly inside the small parts cylinder, presenting a choking hazard to a child under the age of 36 months.

Corrective Action

The import has been rejected and destroyed at the border.
