- The product presents a serious chemical risk as it contains excess phthalates. When tested, it was found that the plastic material from the suction cup contains 14.00 ± 0.85% DEHP and 8.54 ± 0.52% DBP. This exceeds the specified maximum limit of 0.1% by mass of the plasticised material, as the sum of the four phthalates. Phthalates can potentially harm children’s health either via cancer or non-cancer effects and may cause the child to have long term health implications.
