Description

Brand

eBay
Country of Origin
China
Risk Level: High
The product presents a high risk of fire as the creepage and clearance distances within the charger are insufficient, which could cause the components to overheat and ignite. The battery and the transformer on the charger were of a poor build quality, with wires soldered directly to the PCB, which could lead to overheating and a fire or explosion in the case of a short circuit. No fuse was present on the output to protect the battery pack from overcurrent conditions. The battery charging input and output cables also were not sufficiently protected against stress.
Corrective Action
Owners are advised to stop using the battery immediately and dispose of it safely via their local household waste disposal site. Consumers should check first with their local centre if they accept this type of battery. For further information on household waste, access the following Gov.uk webpage:https://www.gov.uk/dispose-household-waste.
