- The product failed the electric strength test as the insulation between the input and output circuits broke down when a 2.92 kV test voltage was applied between the circuits. A breakdown in clearances and insulation can lead to overheating and/or electric shock. The shutter featured on the sockets did not restrict access to live parts. As the power strip accepts BS1363 plugs, it is required to have a rated current of 13A, however, was found to only have 10A. Excessive loads can lead to overheating and fire. Some of the required documentation and markings were not present.
