The product presents a serious risk of fire as the faucet’s fuse does not meet the requirements of BS1362 as it features poorly secured end caps and had no granular filler to ensure safe operation of the fuse under fault conditions. The length and diameter of the fuse were both less than required. Additionally, the product was identified as having an input current of 15 A, which is too large for the 13 A rated plug supplied with the appliance. The instructions were considered to be inadequate as they were not in a language easily understood in the country in which the product was supplied. Some of the required documentation and markings were not present.

Corrective Action

The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
