- The product presents a high risk of fire as the plug does not have the facility for a fuse, which means it has no protection under fault conditions. If the circuit was to overload or short, the plug could explode from the wall and catch fire. The earth pin has been fitted with a sleeve which could prevent the good earth contact, and testing found that the lengths of the live, neutral and earth pins were too short which could lead to arcing and presents a risk of fire.
