Terms of Use · FOLO-UP Whistle
Report responsibly. Treat every signal according to its evidence.
Effective date: 5 August 2026 · Terms version: 2026-08-05
FOLO-UP Whistle is an independent reporting and intelligence tool operated by Irelco Ltd., under the FOLO-UP brand. It is not a regulator, emergency service, marketplace, manufacturer, product-testing body, law firm or official recall database.
1. Who operates Whistle
FOLO-UP is a service of Irelco Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 15377065. These terms apply to the FOLO-UP Whistle Chrome extension, its status lookup, report intake and associated support pages.
2. Acceptance and eligibility
You must acknowledge the current first-use disclosure and accept these terms before submitting reports. If you do not agree, do not use Whistle to check or report listings. Whistle is not directed to children under 13; a parent, guardian or responsible adult should submit a concern on a younger child’s behalf.
3. What Whistle does
- purifies recognised marketplace listing addresses to reduce tracking/referral noise and duplicate listing records;
- optionally retrieves aggregate FOLO-UP report counts and any controlled human-review status;
- lets a user submit the current listing as a possible fake/copy or unsafe-product concern;
- in the Public edition, keeps a limited report-receipt history only in that extension installation and lets the user request the latest public status for its saved listing URLs;
- uses pseudonymous fingerprints, duplicate constraints and rate limits to protect counts and the service;
- places the listing in a human-review pool where it may be routed into FOLO-UP’s Find, Verify and Resolve workflow.
4. Status indicators and no-report disclaimer
No report recorded means only “not reported to FOLO-UP for this purified listing address”. It does not mean the product is safe, unsafe, genuine, counterfeit, legitimate, compliant or infringing.
- Grey: no report recorded; no conclusion.
- Yellow: one to four unverified concern reports.
- Orange: five to ten unverified concern reports.
- Red: eleven or more unverified concern reports. Count thresholds may be reviewed as usage grows.
- Green · OK · Checked: a bounded human review found no concern in the cited evidence. OK replaces the report count, earlier reports remain visible as history and evidence is stored; it is not a safety guarantee.
- Black · NO · Confirmed: an evidence-based finding and/or official action is supported by a recorded source. NO replaces the report count and earlier reports remain visible as history; the exact scope matters.
The displayed count indicates only how many separate accepted reports of concern have been recorded for a product. It does not show that the concerns are reasonable or that an appropriate body has checked the product. Multiple reports may warrant greater caution, but the count is not a probability, risk rating, legal opinion, authenticity assessment or product-safety certification.
5. Good-faith reporting obligations
By submitting a report, you confirm that:
- you have a genuine concern based on what you observed;
- you will not knowingly submit anything false, misleading, malicious, retaliatory, discriminatory or defamatory, or coordinate with others to distort a count;
- you will select the category that best reflects your concern and will not use multiple browsers, installations, sessions, networks or access keys to evade duplicate or rate controls;
- you will not submit passwords, payment details, private communications, confidential information, unlawful material or unnecessary personal/special-category data;
- you will not attempt to probe, disrupt, reverse engineer, overload, bypass or gain unauthorised access to Whistle or the FOLO-UP systems;
- you are entitled to provide the listing address and observations, and will respect the privacy, copyright, trademark and other rights of third parties.
6. Moderation and enforcement
Irelco Ltd may reject, rate-limit, de-duplicate, quarantine, remove from public counts, correct, investigate or retain reports where reasonably necessary for accuracy, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance or evidence integrity. We may restrict or terminate access, revoke a Professional key, preserve relevant evidence and refer suspected unlawful activity to the appropriate organisation.
Acceptance by the API confirms receipt or an existing duplicate only. It is not endorsement, verification or a promise that FOLO-UP will investigate, publish, notify a third party or take a particular action.
7. Urgent risks and official reporting
8. Accuracy and third-party information
Whistle relies on listing pages, community submissions, third-party sources and information available at the time. Listings can change, identifiers can be reused, sellers can relist products and public sources can be incomplete or wrong. FOLO-UP does not warrant that signals, metadata, availability, links or review outcomes are complete, current or error-free.
Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, Temu, TikTok and other names are third-party trademarks. Whistle is independent and is not sponsored, endorsed or operated by those marketplaces unless explicitly stated otherwise.
9. Intellectual property
FOLO-UP branding, Whistle software, original interface, documentation and original FOLO-UP content are owned by or licensed to Irelco Ltd. These terms do not transfer ownership. You may use the extension for its intended purpose but must not copy, sell, sublicense or create misleading derivative services except as permitted by law or written agreement.
By submitting a report, you authorise Irelco Ltd to store, reproduce, analyse and share the submitted listing information and observations to operate Whistle, investigate the concern, preserve evidence, prevent abuse and support proportionate action. This permission is non-exclusive, worldwide and lasts only as long as reasonably required for those purposes. You do not grant rights you do not possess.
10. Public local history and Professional profile
The Public My Whistle Reports feature is a browser-only convenience, not an account, remote profile or backup. It is limited to the extension installation where the reports were made and does not transfer automatically to another browser or device. Removing Whistle or clearing its extension data permanently deletes that local history, and Irelco Ltd cannot restore it. The underlying report already received by FOLO-UP is separate and is not erased merely by deleting the local receipt.
Professional access is for authorised FOLO-UP staff and paying customers under an additional agreement. Keys are individual, must be kept confidential and must not be shared or embedded in software. “No application-level hourly report quota” does not remove listing-level duplicate controls, security monitoring, infrastructure/WAF limits or the obligation to use Whistle proportionately.
The Professional profile displays listings associated with the non-secret entitlement label for the active key and selected status information suitable for that reporter. It is a follow-up aid, not a complete case file, regulatory decision, service-level commitment or guarantee that FOLO-UP will investigate or act on every report. Internal client workspaces, case references and other reporters’ identities are not part of the profile.
11. Availability and changes
Whistle may be changed, suspended or withdrawn for maintenance, security, legal, policy or operational reasons. Store and browser updates may occur automatically. When a material change affects data collection/use or reporting obligations, Whistle will require acknowledgement of the new disclosure version before automatic checks or reporting resume.
12. Disclaimer and liability
Whistle is provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Irelco Ltd excludes implied warranties and is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, opportunity, goodwill or data arising from reliance on a community signal, absence of a report, third-party listing, service interruption or unauthorised misuse.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory rights that cannot be excluded.
13. Privacy
The FOLO-UP Whistle Privacy Notice explains the controller, information processed, purposes, lawful bases, recipients, retention, safeguards and rights. The Privacy Notice is not made part of these contractual terms merely by reference.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that a consumer may retain any mandatory right to bring proceedings in another part of the United Kingdom or their country of residence.
